A few weeks ago we wrote to you about the possible arrival of a GP version of Yamaha’s XSR900, after the Iwata company filed the patent application for the “XSR900 GP” trademark, which suggests that the intentions with respect to this model are concrete, and soon we could see it arrive in an official capacity.
Meanwhile, the Japanese accessories supplier Y’S Gear, dedicated only to the Yamaha brand, offers 2 conversion kits for the current XSR 900. Prices range from around 750 to 1,600 euros, and allow you to transform your bike into a real special .
he kit Sports Blood Line for the XSR900 it was designed to recall the 1975 YZR 500, the famous bike used by Giacomo Agostini with which he won his second world title. In terms of color, the conversion parts for the XSR are white, yellow and red and on these the old logo of the House of the three tuning forks stands out. The kit consists of a new tank, a cover for the steering head, a round fairing that integrates the headlight, a new front mudguard, two side panels and a cover for the passenger seat. For the transformation, the House declares that it takes about two and a half hours of time. The kit will be available from June 2023 in Japan, and currently the European market has not been mentioned, but since these are official Yamaha parts it is likely that it will also come from us.
