Last Monday, the singer Ximena Sariñana was present at the International Horse Fair in Texcoco where unfortunately she and her team were violently attacked, in addition to her producer manager beat him until he was bloody.
Ximena, her musicians and part of the staff were thanked in the event’s dressing rooms by a group of individuals who have not yet been identified.
In an interview, the Mexican revealed that she found out what was happening when she was no longer in the place, because His drummer called him desperate on the phone to ask him to seek help.
“I heard my musicians screaming, Melche (producer and management) asking for help because they wouldn’t let them out and they couldn’t open the door, while Melche was beaten,” said Ximena.
Immediately the interpreter of “Una Vez Más” contacted her promoters to ask for help and to do something, in addition to seeking support from the public security elements of the municipality.
Minutes after doing everything possible to get them to help his team, he received a second call from his director mentioning that everything was over.
“My director called me again and told me: ‘they left and they let us out, we don’t know what happened and we don’t know where Melche is.’ I thought the worst that they had kidnapped him or killed him and they were going to disappear him,” he added. .
Fortunately for her and her entire team, Luis Miguel Melche appeared twenty minutes later in a river close to the area surrounding the Fair, but the condition in which they found him was so serious that they tried to get him to receive medical help immediately.
Ximena does not rule out that this could be planned
According to the also actress, both she and the rest of her team had felt safe and comfortable at all times, during sound checks and even more so during the show; they never felt that there could be any kind of threat against them.
However, the people who attacked them were able to access a place completely restricted for the public and for anyone outside the event.
“Where is security, what the promoters guarantee us from the beginning, where was it? You ask for a series of things and we always ask for a certain number of security people and that they be there all the time until there is not a single person from our team in the place”.
But not only did they not comply with what was promised, but the way in which the facts occurred, It has raised the suspicion that it could have been something premeditated.
“There was planning involved, they were going to hurt Melche. These people had access to the dressing room, they beat Melche for I don’t know how long, they had time to take him away and nobody found them,” he says.
They already denounced the facts
A few days after this brutal attack was carried out, it has already been possible to collect some data such as the official statement of Luis Miguel Melche, who After being intervened, he was able to issue a formal complaint, and a video showing the exact moment in which the attackers threw him into the river.
“The complaint is being filed with the public ministry and we are following all the steps that must be followed in a situation like this,” Ximena stressed.
The promoter of the FICT has kept in touch with them, but the statements that were issued by the patronage of the event, as well as by the Texcoco town hall, for Sariñana, are not enough.
“The Texcoco city council issued a statement that said an absolute falsehood: that there had been an altercation between the security people and my production team, but it was not like that at all, and if they are pointing to their security team it is something alarming. And the board released a statement regretting the events, something that in my opinion is not enough because a person’s life will change radically from what happened,” said the singer.
Regarding the current state of health of your co-worker, He stressed that fortunately the doctors were able to save the right eye, but now it is the left organ that is at risk.
“There is a very reserved prognosis but the situation with the left eye is quite uncertain, in addition to some other operations that are not related to sight, and that have to be done due to the injuries he suffered. Will it affect your presentation in Tecate Pal’Norte?
About the rest of his agenda, the next presentation of Sariñana is scheduled for next weekend at the festival Tecate Pal’Norte, an event that, they hope, will not be affected by the situation.
“We are trying not to affect it, because it seems to us an injustice to the work team and music in general. Music is supposed to be a balm for the soul and it is what we like to do the most and it is what unites us with Melche”.
However, this is a difficult time, and for now, her priority is to be receptive to the feelings of her entire team, which could change the course of this and other presentations.
“So far our intentions and feelings are that we do want it to happen (Pal’ Norte), but I don’t know if the next ones will suffer any changes,” he concluded.
