The sneak peek provided by Marvel Comics confirms that the characters are the updated versions of Scott Summers and Jean from the X-Men.
In ‘Bishop: War College‘ #1, Lucas Bishop was transported to a different universe after an encounter with the fenris twins, who now work with the organization Antimutating Orchis.
His disappearance was particularly unfortunate, as he was training a group of young mutants to defend the krakoa island during an attack by the Fenris Twins. In issue #2, the writer J. Holtham and the creative team formally introduce two new characters that appear to be variants of the heroes Jean and Scott.
A new version of the X-Men characters of different ethnicity
The sneak peek provided by Marvel confirms that the two new characters are the updated versions of Scott and Jean. However, Bishop doesn’t believe them and instead pulls the gun from him, which does little to help the situation.
Penciller Sean Damien Hill, inker Victor Nava, artist Alberto Foche, colorist Espen Grundetjern, and VC lyricist Travis Lanham have worked on the issue to bring the characters to life in their official debut in Marvel Comics history.
Synopsis:
«Bishop confronts his friends? What’s a Bishop story without time travel? Transported to a strange future, Lucas discovers familiar faces that will forever alter his world view. Meanwhile, his students are in danger, and not only of failing their course. With the help of some surprising allies, the anti-mutant organization Orchis has finally found a way into Krakoa. Is this the end of the island?
