Daniël Verlaan was able to answer most of the questions correctly in the final test and to unmask the mole. That was TV presenter Jurre Geluk.
The pot is filled with 11,650 euros and that amount is transferred to the new winner, Daniël. Losing finalist Ranomi Kromowidjojo thought Daniel was de Mol. Daniel was on Jurre. The announcement was made from the garden of Soestdijk Palace, this year for the first time since corona again with the public.
South Africa
This season of Wie is de Mol? (WIDM) was set in South Africa. Other participants were Soy Kroon, Annick Boer, Froukje de Both, Sander de Kramer, Anke de Jong, Nabil Aoulad Ayad, and Sarah Janneh.
All three finalists had indicated in advance that they wanted to be the Mole.
Last year, actor Everon Jackson turned out to be Hooi de Mol. Sports reporter Fresia Cousiño Arias then won the lowest pot ever, 8,065 euros. The 31-year-old donated that amount to charities. Singer Kim-Lian van der Meij was the losing finalist.
Viewing figures
WIDM has been a viewing figure gun for years. Each episode can count on about three million viewers, including delayed viewing.
The regular viewing figures this year were somewhat behind in recent years. Asked about a possible cause for this, presenter Rick van de Westelaken came up with corona. “Corona has influenced the viewing figures enormously in the past three years. People had nowhere to go, there was no alternative, at least not outside of TV. Under normal circumstances you cannot assume that it will remain the same. I think the viewing figures are also very much within expectations. I am glad that so many people have watched again.”
