Vampire Survivors turned out to be one of the most engaging games of 2022 and its success continues. Given how well received it was, it’s normal to think that Lua Galante’s home project will become a repetitive franchise with multiple sequels, but is it in the creative’s plans?
While Vampire Survivors is a traditional game focused on the solo player experience, it will continue to receive new content through paid DLC and updates with key new features at no cost.
It is very premature then to think of a continuation, sequel or spiritual successor to Vampire Survivors, but it is inevitable to question whether this could happen in a few years.

Will Vampire Survivors have a sequel?
Thus, GameSpot had the opportunity to chat with the creative leader of the project, Luca Galante, and questioned him about the possibility of a Vampire Survivors 2 or a hypothetical sequel.
Despite the great success of the original game, Galante mentioned that it is “unlikely” and not because he no longer wants to work on the franchise, but because if he develops a new game, it should offer “something radically new” that justifies the continuation.
In case you missed it: Xbox boss put countless hours of gameplay into Vampire Survivors.
That said, Galante let it be seen that, for the moment, with the DLC plans he has for the original game, it is enough and he tacitly means that he will not launch a sequel simply for the sake of profit by offering the same thing.
“With the way Vampire Survivors is designed, we can offer both new content and new mechanics in the existing game, so why make a sequel?” “I think if we want to make a spiritual sequel or successor, then we should offer something radically new.”
What do you think of the response from the creator of Vampire Survivors? Would you like to see a sequel to the title? Tell us in the comments.
