The gold wing brand appears to be working on a small-displacement trail bike that could carry the CB300X name
March 24, 2023
Honda, as we well know, differentiates its global market a lot making a clear distinction between Europe, Asia, the Japanese market and America.
The CB300X could be then the new entry-level trail bike low engine capacity of the winged House dedicated to next year. Based on existing models in other markets, the hypothesis is well founded given that in India, for example, there is a Honda CB200X and a CB300F, from which the CB300X will probably be born.
With this new model, Honda fills the gap left in the 250/300 cc segment left by the naked CB300R and the knobby CRF300L. Thanks to the new entry the House with the golden wing it will also be able to compare itself with the competition the BMW G 310 GS, the Benelli TRK 251, the KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The mechanics
From a mechanical point of view, the Honda CB300X, would inherit the mechanics of the CB300F indiana, equipped with an air-cooled (and oil-cooled) 293 cc single-cylinder engine capable of 24.5 HP and 25.6 Nm of torque. However, in case this Honda CB300X actually arrives, yesIt would be more logical to equip it with the much more modern and technological engine of the CB300R, certainly more suited to the needs of the European market and environmental requirements.
In India, both the CB300F and the CB200X have been very popular with the public, proving successful and, given the growing demand for trail bikes in Europe and the actual lack of a model of this type in the Honda catalogue, it is very probable that the Japanese company has this model ready to the market by 2024.
