Konami was one of the most beloved and respected franchises in the gaming industry. However, in recent years it has earned a bad reputation after a series of controversies ranging from canceling the highly anticipated Silent Hills to dabbling in the always controversial NFTs. However, it seems that he could win the hearts of fans again soon.
In a recent interview with IGN, Tsutomu Taniguchi, Konami’s assistant producer, talked about the new Castlevania-inspired DLC for Dead Cells, which debuted on March 6. While much of the conversation revolved around this collaboration, there was a moment to talk about the fan base that has been built around the vampire slayer franchise.

Konami knows fans love Castlevania
Specifically, Tsutomu Taniguchi recognized the passion and excitement that exists around the Castlevania saga, and assured in the interview that this enthusiasm is “really motivating for Konami.” Also, and even more interesting, he comments that the company is aware that fans “always want more.”
“We tried to bring back the games that people loved and cherished with the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and the Castlevania Advance Collection. We’re also bringing back Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night for our PlayStation fans, and on mobile we’re launching Grimoire of Souls on Apple Arcade to celebrate the lore of the franchise. But we know our fans always want more, and so do we, so that this opportunity to do this incredible crossover with Dead Cells was impossible to pass up,” said the producer.

We must remember that the last installment in the form of the franchise was Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 from 2014, so fans are eager to enjoy a new title. Although Tsutomu Taniguchi’s statements do not confirm the return of the saga, they do at least reveal that Konami is aware of the enthusiasm of the community.
Now, will the IP return soon? It’s hard to tell, but a recent report indicates that the company would supposedly be at E3 2023 to share Castlevania and Metal Gear-related news. We’ll have to wait to find out if it’s true.
