Resident Evil 4 Remake It seemed to be another triumph for Capcom, a company on a roll and particularly with this saga, which receives deliveries every one or two years, between new games and very ambitious remakes.
Resident Evil 4, with an average of 93 on Metacritic among the media’s notes, however, has been perceived in a very different way by a good percentage of players, who have not liked it at all… and they do notice with “review bombing“.
Resident Evil 4 is not as extreme a case as others, but it is striking that its average of 93, with 107 media reviews… has by its side a note of 71with 1350 user reviews, at the time of writing these lines, in the PS5 version.
And in the Xbox and PC, although they do not have so many ratings, the note of the users drops to 52 and 56. What happened to Resident Evil 4 and why is it getting so much review bombing?

Reasons why Resident Evil 4 has not liked the fans
Without there being “ideological” reasons behind the criticism, it is interesting to analyze why some fans are so disappointed with this game. And reading several of the user reviews, we came to some conclusions:
Removed content: there is neither the Mercenaries mode nor the modes with Ada It is more serious and the tone of “series B” is lost from the original: Leon is boring (and they also criticize the voices) The story is the same without much evolution, it’s a more “ordinary” game Some compare it with RE5: too much action focused and the atmosphere of the game has been lost In turn, combat and aiming is slow less satisfying (and there are no more beheadings) Criticize the bosses: they recycle their movements and are very simple (and they have removed U-3) Side quests like the Peddler are intrusivelike from an open world game Despite being more detailed, it is too dark, dull and visually drab Tedious puzzles based on trial and error AI is unfairand one says that “enemies respawn infinitely” Bad performance on consoles, almost never at 60 fps (on PS4 it’s worse) By adding realism, they ruined what made it fun
What do you think? Do you agree with these assessments of Resident Evil 4, even in part? Of course, it is not a game of “zero potato”… but maybe it’s not outstanding either. Fortunately, the original is still available on all platforms, no one is going to take it away from you!
