The comedian duo, Kenan and Kel, became popular in the 90’s for teen shows on Nickelodeon. Now he will return with the sequel to one of his films.
It was with great authority that Kenan and Kel they entered Hollywood in the 90s. In a decade that placed North American youth series as the great trend, the African-American duo decided to try their luck in that genre. Both went from pure comedy on stage to television, a transition that was not easy, but boy did it have good results.

With their own names Kenan Thompson y Kel Mitchell they starred in the famous four-season show that bore their names as a title. The creativity of the former added to the help of the latter always placed them in ridiculous risks, which were the axis of each episode/sketch.
Having a live audience, the chapters were almost entirely independent, which allowed people to enjoy themselves without worrying about continuity. This project was followed by others like Drake and Josh, Zoey 101 or iCarly. However, it was this production and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air that began the great wave of youth sitcoms for Nickelodeon and MTV.
Kenan and Kel was so well received that he came to the XXI century in transmission. In addition, the protagonists were sought by many studios to do other jobs. In fact, in that eagerness, Nick decided to sign them to star in a movie.
The return
In 1997 they released good burger, a comedy classic in which they did not play themselves. On the contrary, this time two friends “cook” a plan to save their hamburger restaurant, threatened by a fast food chain.
A few months ago the sequel to the film was confirmed. Also, this Friday Thompson gave the first details in a official announcement. “I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger! Being a part of something that so many generations of people have come to love has made me proud and now to be back where it all began to work on the sequel is surreal! I love acting with my brother Kel and I can’t wait to show fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”
Elsewhere, Mitchell added: “Ed is one of those timeless characters who has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a beautiful blessing to still be able to do so after all these years. It’s amazing to go back and continue the stories of Dex (Kenan), Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching them and their children.”
What will Good Burger 2 be about?
Finally, the specialized media Variety revealed earlier the synopsis of the long-awaited sequel. “Dexter Reed (Thompson) is down on his luck after another of his inventions fails. Ed (Mitchell) welcomes Dex to Good Burger with open arms and gives him back his old job. With a new team working on Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to recover, but unfortunately puts Good Burger’s fate at risk once again.
The film, which does not yet have a release date, will be distributed primarily via streaming through Nickelodeon’s unit with Viacom. Therefore, the feature film will end up in Paramount+as was also revealed by its main actors.
