Despite being one of the most anticipated fighting games for the coming months, Project L is keeping a low profile and many of its details remain a mystery at this time. How many characters will it have? What will be its release date? Unfortunately, these and many other questions still lack an answer and it seems that the situation will remain the same for a long time.
Everything indicates that Project L is still far away
Certainly, in 2022 there were many firsts. In August, Riot Games confirmed that Project L will be free-to-play and revealed the identity of a new fighter that will be part of the initial roster. A little later, in December, he shared a lengthy trailer where he explained some of the basic and advanced mechanics that shape the core of combat.
Now, and through a message on Discord (via reddit), the senior director and executive producer, Tom Cannon, confirmed that the League of Legends fighting title is still a project in production. He also assured that they will share more information this year, but said that the next batch of news will not arrive at EVO Japan 2023, a competitive event that will take place later this week.

With this on the table, it seems that Project L still looks distant and without a tentative release window. On social networks and forums, the community is pessimistic and already believes that the League of Legends fighting title will arrive sometime next year in the best scenario.
