Today will still be a calm day from a weather point of view. Weak southern currents gradually bring milder air to our country, especially to the central south, while a very weak Atlantic perturbation touches northern Italy, causing more than anything else a temporary increase in cloudiness. Tomorrow a more active perturbation (the 11th of the month), but very fast, will cross the northernmost sectors of Italy, accompanied by some rain on the Alpine areas and locally also on the nearby plains and on the Venetian regions; significant rise in temperatures in the central south and on the two major islands due to the effect of the southern winds. Saturday 1 April is expected to be a day with little or no disturbances, with intense Mistral winds in Sardinia, Foehn winds in the western Alps. Sunday increases the instability in the Center-South due to the arrival of a perturbed front of Atlantic origin (the No. 1 of April) which then at the beginning of next week could give rise to the formation of a low pressure vortex positioned in the South ; the North will just be lapped by isolated showers on Sunday. At the beginning of the week strong winds in the Center-South and a significant drop in temperature.
Forecast for the next few hours
Mostly clear or partly cloudy skies on the main islands, in Calabria and southern Puglia. Variable and irregular cloud cover with partly cloudy sky in the rest of the Centre-South; in the afternoon large clearings on the central regions.
In the North partial clearing over western Piedmont and Emilia Romagna, cloudy or very cloudy in the rest of the North; in the morning possible local drizzles on central-eastern Liguria; between the afternoon and evening, weak and brief precipitations in the Alps are not excluded, with snow only at high altitudes.
Temperatures on the rise, even sensitive in the minimum values. Winds from southern, moderate or tense Scirocco quadrants on the central and western Tyrrhenian Sea and in the Strait of Sicily. Seas: the south-eastern Tyrrhenian Sea, the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic sea are calm or smooth; moved the remaining basins.

Changing weather in the northern regions reached by an Atlantic perturbation. Rains in the morning in Valle d’Aosta, upper Piedmont, central-northern Lombardy, subsequently moving towards Triveneto, with snow in the Alps progressively decreasing up to around 1600-1700 metres; weak isolated rains in Liguria and in the hinterland of north-western Tuscany. Clear or partly cloudy over Sicily and the extreme south; clouds in transit in the rest of central-southern Italy, especially in the central regions, with partly cloudy or locally cloudy skies. During the afternoon, the rainfall ceased almost everywhere in the North-West with some residual snowfall on the border of Valle d’Aosta and Ossola and a tendency to clear up starting from lower Piedmont and western Liguria.
Minimum temperatures on the rise in the Northeast, Centre-South and Islands; highs rising and well above the norm in the extreme south and in Sicily with peaks even well above 20 degrees, decreasing in the northern areas affected by the rains. Moderately intensifying southerly winds with mostly choppy to very choppy seas.
