LIVERPOOL – A man who was caught owning a cannabis business inside his residence was caught hiding out of the roof window of his house during a police raid.
Yep, the defendant tried to escape by quickly climbing onto the roof of the house. However, it didn’t take long for the long arms of the law to catch him.
The court heard that 32-year-old Etmond Lika was paid £100 a day to maintain a cannabis field in a terraced house.
He was reportedly stationed indoors and tasked with tending to the cannabis plants as they grew.
Liverpool Echo reported that Lika appeared at Liverpool Crown Court, England, via video link after pleading guilty.
During the raid, the police first found as many as 200 cannabis plants. But as the search widened, Lika tried to escape from the building by climbing through a skylight and hiding on the roof.
After being arrested, the 32-year-old initially said he knew nothing about cannabis farming.
“Lika has been employed by someone to manage or run this installation to either look after the plants or whatever is necessary,” said Prosecutor Christopher Hopkins.
