The first group of 82 Ukrainians will be accommodated in the short term at locations at Sportlaan in Vriezenveen and Camping De Blekhorst in Den Ham. Twenterand is still looking for a suitable location for a second group of Ukrainian refugees. “We think it is important as a municipality to be hospitable to these refugees,” responds mayor Hans Broekhuizen. “The situation they are in is incredibly difficult. They are very welcome in our community.”
