KIEV – At least nine people died in the new wave of attacks Russia Of Ukraine . No half-hearted, Russia uses powerful weapons in this attack including hypersonic missile rare Kinzhal.
Russia has reportedly not fired a Kinzhal hypersonic missile – which can evade air defenses – since the conflict’s early months.
This latest series of attacks is the most severe to hit Ukraine in weeks.
The attack cut off power to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant – Europe’s largest – although it was later restored.
“High-precision long-range air, sea and ground-based weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system, hit a key element of Ukraine’s military infrastructure,” Russian defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov was quoted as saying by the BBC, Friday (10/3/2023).
It was Russia’s biggest attack in a day on Ukraine since late January.
The Ukrainian military claims to have shot down 34 Iranian-made cruise missiles and four Shahed drones.
But it is also said to be unable to intercept six Kinzhal ballistic missiles nor is it capable of destroying older weapons, such as the Kh-22 anti-ship missile and the S-300 anti-aircraft missile.
“This was a major strike and the first time with so many types of missiles,” Reuters news agency quoted a spokesman for the Ukrainian air force as saying.
