WASHINGTON – Former President Donald Trump told supporters on Saturday (25/3/2023) that President Joe Biden is turning the United States (US) into a “third world banana republic”.
Trump vowed to banish the “disgusting political class” if re-elected next year.
He is reportedly facing arrest threats over campaign finance charges in New York. Trump held his first campaign rally ahead of the 2024 election in Waco, Texas, on Saturday.
Addressing a crowd of several thousand, Trump reaffirmed his long-held belief that the various charges against him and the prosecution of the January 6, 2021 rioters were a plot orchestrated by the Democratic Party to keep him out of office and criminalize his supporters.
“The weaponization of the Biden regime’s law enforcement against their political opponents is something straight out of a Stalinist Russia horror show,” he said, calling Biden’s America a “third world banana republic”.
“From the start this was one witch hunt and bogus investigation after another,” Trump said.
He added, “It’s no coincidence that the deep state is after me harder because I promised an immediate end to the war in Ukraine.”
Trump has claimed for months that if elected he would be able to reach a resolution to the conflict within 24 hours.
He has not provided further details on how he will achieve this, but blames the conflict on “all the ‘America Last’ warmongers and globalists” in the Pentagon, State Department, and other organs of national security and the “deep state”.
