The 36-year-old woman was rescued from a grave that nearly killed her. The incident occurred at the Visconde do Rio Branco City Cemetery, Minas Gerais State, on the morning of March 28, 2023.
Initially there were gravediggers who called the police upon noticing a suspicious new grave, which was covered with bricks and cement and had bloodstains.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they heard the woman’s voice crying for help from within the grave. They rushed to dismantle the grave and save it.
The woman was then taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for a head injury.
The Municipal Authority of Visconde do Rio Branco has confirmed the horrific incident in a statement.
“Despite the fact that the area where the incident occurred was partially closed off, and even with increased security, invasions have continued, especially by drug users, due to the disastrous situation in which the City Cemetery was discovered by the current administration,” the authority said, as quoted The Mirror, Thursday (30/3/2023).
The woman told how two masked men took her to a cemetery, where they attacked her and threw her into a grave which was then covered with bricks and cement.
