AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw has been called up by Germany, but continues to talk about the Rossoneri and upcoming fixtures
Malick Thiawdefender of the Milanspoke about the Rossoneri’s training camp in Germany and the upcoming Champions League matches against Napoli. Here are his words released to DFB.de and reported by SpazioMilan.
On the call-up with Germany: “Amazing. This makes me happy and proud. And it shows that all the hard work of the last few years, the wholehearted support of my family, who have always been there for me, is paying off. But even now that I’m here with the national team, I don’t want to stand still in my growth. I want to learn and keep improving. That has always been my goal. Germany is a great football nation, a real football nation with a very successful national team, which I was rooting for as a child every match. I always believed that I had the qualities to play for Germany. But of course I could never be sure that I would really make it. Up to this point everything went well. Now I’m in the national team.”
About Milan: “Every time I walk into the dressing room and see my shirt with my name and number on it, I’m very proud and happy. First Ronaldinho. But looking back, the one I associate with Milan the most is Kevin-Prince Boateng. His Two goals against Barcelona and against Arsenal made me go into raptures. I was very young, I watched the games on TV and thought: Wow!”.
Su Ibrahimovic: “He gives something to his teammates in every single workout. He’s a good guy, a real boss. And he hates to lose. It’s a huge thing to be able to play with him. It’s a great honor and makes me incredibly proud. I also watched and admired him on television when I was a kid.”
About Serie A: “The high level surprised me when I arrived at Milan. It was much better than expected. All the teams are tactically well trained, it’s difficult to win against any team, especially away from home. They defend very well.”
