FromSoftware company games have been created from the beginning to be difficult. Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring, each of the games has been designed to present a challenge to the players and, in many cases, a frustration, since they are planned to see the death screen countless times and force the repetition of areas of the map and fights against bosses.
These difficulty rules have been questioned on several occasions by fans, wondering if there should be a difficulty selector or if this could break the immersion in the grim worlds that are presented to us. However, the modders decided to ignore these discussions to create Easy Souls III, a version of Dark Souls III with options to lower the difficulty and thus have an easy mode and less frustrating.
The mod consists of a selector of three difficulties, they serve to select an easier version of the game, based on the number of souls that are obtained to level up faster, the percentage of damage received to endure more, and the percentage of damage extra made to – just as it sounds – do more damage. The three selectors are as follows:
• Easy – Gain 25% more souls from killing enemies and deal 25% more damage. Additionally, damage taken is reduced by 25%.
• Very easy – Gain 50% more souls from killing enemies and deal 50% more damage. Additionally, damage taken is reduced by 50%.
• super easy – Gain 75% more souls from killing enemies and deal 75% more damage. Additionally, damage taken is reduced by 75%.
For many of the fans of the Souls saga and other games from the company, playing this version of the game is a sacrilege to the completely break the difficulty curveHowever, for those players who lose patience easily or are looking for a more relaxing experience, Easy Souls III may be a more versatile and friendly option. If you want to try this version of Dark Souls III and enjoy traversing Lothric without the risk of dying so many times, you can find the mod here.
