There is also a Marquez who smiles in Portimao
In Portimao, Alex Marquez found a top 5 that had been missing for over a year.
A good start for the Spaniard of Team Gresini who immediately finds his rhythm and makes good use of the opportunities that open up thanks to a few crashes in front. Number 73 battles for third position with Bezzecchi for most of the race, then in the final, pressed by the KTMs, he has to think more about defending himself and only Zarco manages to practically pass him across the finish line.
“I tried in every possible way to keep fourth position but I didn’t close enough in 14th and Zarco took advantage of that – said Marc’s brother -. As a first race, I can’t complain, and without a doubt we’re going to Argentina with a lot of confidence. I gave 100%, I even looked at the podium with confidence for a moment…and it hasn’t happened to me for a while. We know what to work on to improve the end of the race and we’ll be ready at Termas”.
