Peugeot has renewed its 508 hybrid, a rare bird in a market where sedans have less and less space. It is a vehicle that has just landed in Spain with five engines, all of them plug-in hybrids. In addition to being one of the few sedans on the market, it also has an SW body for those looking for some additional space.
We are going to tell you the main novelties of the Peugeot 508 Hybrid, as well as to break down how their prices are in Spain. We already anticipate that it is not an economical vehicle, something that it does not aspire to, being this the most aspirational saloon of the French brand.
Long live the sedans
Last February, the Stellantis group announced the evolution of its 508 family, both the sedan and SW versions. The main aesthetic change can be seen in front grill, much wider compared to the 2019 model. Important change also in the headlights, including in this new version three vertical stripes that house the matrix LEDs. The rear lights are also renewed with a three-claw design, along with new turn signals.
Inside, We are talking about a vehicle that improves its i-Cockpit. It is a more technological 508, with a new infotainment system featuring a 10-inch panel, with voice recognition, wireless connectivity with our smartphone and OTA updates.
For the rest, we are talking about a vehicle with the same dimensions (4.75 meters long in the sedan compared to 4.79 meters in the SW version) and which still maintains diesel and gasoline mechanics in addition to hybrids.
The three versions share the 1.6 PureTech gasoline engine from the Stellantis group, accompanied by an electric motor that allows up to 64 kilometers of electric range in the WLTP cycle. This maximum autonomy is achieved by the Allure variants, while the most powerful model, the PSE, drops to 52 kilometers.
