The Dutch national team is hunting for a monster victory in the home game with Gibraltar in the European Championship qualification. According to coach Ronald Koeman, the Orange can only put things right with many goals after Friday’s defeat in France (4-0).
Koeman decides just before the duel in De Kuip whether Matthijs de Ligt and Cody Gakpo will kick off. Both players were missing due to a stomach flu against the French. Denzel Dumfries returns after a suspension and the national coach hinted that he could probably also use Wout Weghorst against a defensive opponent like Gibraltar.
The Netherlands won 7-0 and 6-0 against Gibraltar two years ago, which suffered its biggest defeat to date against Belgium six years ago (9-0). The Orange booked a record victory against San Marino for twelve years: 11-0.
The match between the Netherlands and Gibraltar starts at 8.45 pm.
