A new actor for James Bond? The star Taron Egerton talks about it and says that the interpreter has already been chosen by the studio.
The new James Bond actor has already been chosen. Although the next performer to play the iconic British spy has not been officially announced, actor Taron Egerton believes the role has already been decided and cast. However, no one from the studio has said anything yet.
Speaking to Total Film magazine for its latest issue, Taron Egerton (who has been linked to the role for a couple of months now) said that he actually he had never participated in any conversation to be the new James Bond. Apparently, he hadn’t even met with producer Barbara Broccoli. In fact, Taron Egerton believes that the role was already decided.
The actor would already be signed, but nobody knows who he is
“I think they already have someone booked and it’s not me,” Taron Egerton said. “I have never been part of the conversations. Nor have I met the Broccolis. They have never asked about me. I haven’t been one of the guys they notice either. I don’t think I’m the right person for that. I think there are much, much, much better candidates for the role of James Bond than me. But, you know, he would be a very willing spectator. They are brilliant movies.”
At the moment it is unknown who will play the coveted role of James Bond. However, we do know a few things about what the next actor to join the franchise will look like. Last year, producer Michael G. Wilson said that younger actors probably wouldn’t be considered. Earlier this year, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson expressed concern that he was “too famous” for the role after meeting with Broccoli about possibly playing the character. Which suggests that the producers of the 007 franchise are looking for a more unknown person for the role.
