A new Superman series? Warner Bros. Discovery’s plans are totally unexpected, and now we have a Kryptonian project.
Superman has surprised the world with a new series. A new press release from Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that an animated Man of Steel series will begin airing later this year. However, it will not do so on HBO Max, as planned. Instead, the animated show will premiere its episodes on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block.
In addition, the episodios de My Adventures With Superman will be repeated on Cartoon Network’s Toonami after it airs. Series star Jack Quaid, who will voice Clark Kent, shared his excitement about the update on Instagram. At the same time, he took the opportunity to promote the animated series with a DC Comics Man of Steel T-shirt.
What can we expect from this new DC animated series?
The official synopsis for the series explains that My Adventures With Superman Will Focus On Clark Kent As He Grows Into The Superhero Role. Meanwhile, Lois Lane, who is rising through the ranks of the Daily Planet as an intrepid reporter, decides to take brave photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. As you can see, all the elements of the Man of Tomorrow mythology will be present in the animated series.
Adult Swim
The animated series will truly explore what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be dark and gritty. Judging by the piece of art that you see that has been shown for the series, it will be much more comedic and light-hearted than recent incarnations of the Man of Steel. Let’s hope it serves as a good prelude to the movie that James Gunn is writing and directing.
