Star Wars Jedi Survivor presents its story trailer, and gives us long teeth before one of the most powerful releases of this spring, which was going to be released last Friday, but was finally delayed to 28th of April.
Until now we had not seen much gameplay of Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which on the other hand sells itself, because it is a sequel to the well-known 2019 game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (currently at the lowest price on Steam), with some new features, but the bulk of the game intact.
In other words, it remains a single-player, third-person action-adventure adventure, with elements of soulslike in lightsaber combat and metroidvania in exploration, and will only be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X| S and PC.
Cal Kestis’ adventure continues in Star Wars Jedi Survivor
Cal Kestis was a fugitive Padawan (he was a child when Order 66 occurred, so he never completed his training), but he retained his lightsaber and Force abilities… which drew the attention of Darth Vader and the Inquisitors, a Imperial unit reporting to Vader and dedicated torandom surviving Jedi (never better said).
In the first game Cal Kestis (played by Shameless actor Cameron Monaghan) formed a “second family” that sought refuge from the Empirebut in this new story, posed as second part of a trilogyKestis will be forced to make very difficult decisions, which may separate him from his friends.
Like any good sequel, like The Empire Strikes Back itself, the story will be darker than the first.
“We want to tell a more exciting story, one that has adventures, but also things that are deeper, darker, more intricate and complex,” Monaghan told Game Informer in an interview.
Without making spoilers, the plot will start with “an opportunity that is presented to him, and to which he is going to throw himself without hesitation”, but that brings with it moral conflicts. “What happens when everyone has different opinions about how to live with changing circumstances?”
He 28th of April Star Wars Jedi Survivor is out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. If you want to reserve the digital Deluxe edition, you can do so to also get costumes based on Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
