Skater Merijn Scheperkamp just missed the medals in the 500 meters at the World Championship distances in Heerenveen. With a time of 34.46, the 22-year-old skater just missed the bronze medal and finished fifth. The gold went with 34.10 to the American Jordan Stolz, who grabbed his first world title.
Hein Otterspeer was the first Dutch skater to take action in the sixth stage against Nil Llop Izquierdo from Spain. His time of 34.79 was good for sixth place. Dai Dai N’tab was a bit slower in the next stage against Italian David Bosa. With 34.87 he was seventh.
