Segway, the urban mobility company that created the legendary Segway PT, has just updated its catalog of scooters. This renewal, which was announced during the Mobile World Congress 2023, is led by the Ninebot KickScooter MAX G2the most versatile, powerful and complete proposal of the brand.
The new model focuses on improving most of the features of its predecessor, the MAX G30, promising a better driving experience, thanks to its powerful engine and suspension system, as well as increased user safety. It also highlights the Find My iPhone function. Let’s see its details.

Conservative design and technology for the best driving experience
The lines of the new Ninebot KickScooter MAX G2 do not stand out for their extravagance or extreme avant-garde style. On the contrary, they remain within the parameters of sobriety, that is, enacting a conservative style. And this makes sense since the manufacturer intends it to become the “ultimate commute scooter”.
An elegant dark gray color with yellow details dominates the entire structure of the scooter. The wheels, both the rear and the front, are 10 inches, do not have a tube and have an “anti-puncture” system. Specifically, it is a special layer that seals a puncture of 4 mm or less in the tire tread.
Segway explains that the MAX G2’s rear-wheel drive electric motor delivers 28% more power than the MAX G30. This gives us a result 900W peak power which translates into a top speed of 25 km/h and improved hill-climbing ability. Here, precisely, the RideyLong algorithm also comes into play, which optimizes the performance of the scooter.
As we know, performance is not only synonymous with more power, but also with how much distance we can travel. In this case, the 551 Wh (15300 mAh) battery should be enough to offer a range of 70 km, although Segway notes that “typical range” can be 50 km. Remember that both weight and driving style and temperature are factors that affect autonomy.
The suspension is another interesting point in which the manufacturer, now Chinese, has worked. The MAX G2 has a double suspension system: suspension with hydraulic shock absorber at the front and double spring suspension at the rear. The lack of stability is one of the main shortcomings of scooters, but the models, as in this case, are incorporating certain improvements to address this weak point.
As for safety, we find a front drum brake and a rear electronic brake. There are also front and rear turn signals, and an electronic horn. The MAX G2 comes with three driving modes: ECO, Sport and Drive, which unlock its capabilities depending on the chosen configuration.
Price and availability of the new Ninebot KickScooter MAX G2
Segway says that the Ninebot KickScooter MAX G2 will be available in the European market during the first half of 2023. The price, at the moment, has not been announced.
