Sega April Fools Day has passed. Fools Day in many parts of the world is celebrated today April 1st, and Sega has celebrated it with a whole new game of Sonicafter Sonic Frontiers… in which sonic is dead.
The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is a brand new Sonic game, available only on Steam (and it’s free). But it’s not a platform game like Sonic’s, not even a racing game: it’s a visual novel.
Mixing visual novel and graphic adventure point and clickin this game we participate in a murder party, organized by Amy on her birthday aboard the Mirage Express.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega’s gift to fans for April Fools
We don’t play Sonic, nor any of his friends or enemies on board the train, but an employee of the Mirage Express, who must investigate the (fake) murder of Sonic.
To do this we interrogate the passengers and even participate in some retro mini-games, unraveling a more sinister conspiracy behind an innocent game of murder (a party like Glass Onion’s from Puñales por la Espalda).
We will also meet new characters, such as the conductor who is about to retire… and has seen it all.
The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog seems like a joke, and it is, an April Fools joke… but it’s a real game, which you can now download on Steam through this link, and it is totally free. But is it canon for Sonic’s lore? Does Sonic really die?
