Since PlayStation 5 went on sale at the end of 2020, there have been several companies that have tried their luck in offering a better controller than the DualSense, the official one from Sony. If we already offered an analysis of the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro, now we bring you the SCUF Reflexthe company’s first release for the most demanding gamers, as well as professionals, who plan to change their official controller or have a second option when playing.
SCUF is a well-known brand among eSports players, as well as those who love customization, as they usually offer high-quality controllers on both consoles and PC. In this way, the company launched last year the SCUF Reflex controls, an improved version of the DualSense packed with customization both in its design and functions.

This is how we see the SCUF Reflex for the first time
The SCUF Reflex box comes inside a sliding cardboard that, when removed, allows us to open it in a vertical position to see the plastic-protected controller. The unboxing already gives us the feeling of being in front of a premium product It comes with a 2 meter Paracord USB to USB Type-C cable, user manuals and 2 additional interchangeable analog sticks at different heights.
However, the SCUF Reflex experience begins before purchasing it since, through its website, it can be customized before requesting it. Thus, we will be able to select the colors of the body of the control, of its buttons, of the touch panel or directly bet on a design created by SCUF itself.
The SCUF Reflex controller has the same shape as the DualSense. In fact, all the unique features of the PS5 controller are maintained in this improved version, which does not reject haptic vibration, although it does allow it to be disabled or replace adaptive triggers by some with a super short path that offer a much faster result. The shape of the sticks can be chosen both concave and convex, as well as their height, although best of all, the front part is easy to disassemble to replace it at will.
Having said that, it should be noted that its connectivity with a single console is the same as that of the official controller, being able to connect both by cable and wirelessly through a Bluetooth connection. Among the rest of the characteristics of the SCUF Reflex command, it stands out its 3.5mm jack plug for connecting headphones, although a few days ago we analyzed the incredible Corsair HS55 Wireless. As for the way to charge the controller, we can opt for the cable USB-C as well as the four pin charging socket to use any official charging stand.
This has been our gaming experience
The SCUF Reflex ends up conquering after testing it on the console
Once we have turned on our PlayStation 5 to play with our SCUF Reflex we have been able to verify its superior quality beyond the weight and rigidity of the controller. Having the same shape as the DualSense, it seems that there is not much difference, although features such as a non-slip surface on the grips that make the grip of the controller feel more secure to the touch.
Obviously, another of the big differences are the two small trapezoidal paddles that are added to the controller on each side of its rear panel, which differ markedly from the vertical paddles of other controls. However, as a shocking side to be a pro controller is the lack of own softwarebecause the way to customize the controller and reconfigure the additional buttons is by pressing the profile button.
Fortunately, Both the disassembly and any type of customization of the control is very simple, having up to 3 configurable profiles. In short, this is one of the best PlayStation 5 controllers, although for a few months it has been competing with the improved DualSense Edge, which offers a series of customization options for both hardware and software (reassign buttons, adjust joystick sensitivity and triggers, switch between multiple control profiles, or use a single user interface).
Unfortunately, the SCUF Reflex continues to be a luxury item for some players. All its features are reflected in its recommended retail price: 219,99 euroswhich although it may be justified for professionals, is only 20 euros less than the DualSense Edge, which has a transport case that will allow the remote to be charged via USB without removing it from it.
As it is only for sale on the SCUF website, you will have to be very aware of possible offers, although if you finally decide to make the leap to this brand, you will not regret it, because we are facing a product that knows how to justify quality/price.
Is the SCUF Reflex remote worth it? For An excellent quality remote for professionals. Great customization capacity from before your purchase. Adds possibilities to all the features of the DualSense. Against It lacks software for customization. The price. It has an RRP of 219.99 euros. Conclusions The SCUF Reflex controller is a great alternative to the DualSense that recovers all its unique features to add additional rear buttons and a large amount of customization. Its performance is impeccable for professionals and the possibility of selecting its colors in various parts makes it unique for each player. Its price is high like that of the DualSense Edge, although its quality is unquestionable.
