These are Rea’s words at the end of Friday’s free practice: “The Ducatis make the difference when accelerating out of corners. The first session was a real disaster. The track was dirty and without rubber. In a few laps I destroyed the front race tire. Then the conditions improved and in the end I’m satisfied with the work we did and the set up we found. We’re certainly not at our best, but I hope the track will be better tomorrow and so we’ll continue looking for better grip, especially at the front”.
“We are not bad with the lap time – he clarified -, but we have to work on the race pace. We are at the limit, and a small difference can make us competitive or it can exclude us from the fight for the top positions. We have limited scope to be competitive. Bautista and Rinaldi set the time thanks to their acceleration. Their cornering speed isn’t high, but speed is with which they come out of the curves that makes the difference”.
