These are the words of Bassani after Round 1 of Mandalika: “I do not understand why when the pace of the race increased it took me about three laps to pick up my pace. We need to understand why, but meanwhile I’m enjoying this resultbecause for the second time I closed fourth two seconds behind third. Both Alvaro and I were touched by Rinaldi, who did something best not to do in the first cornerbut these are the races and we have to accept that too.”
“The bike behaves much better with the soft tires – he added -, but today it wasn’t possible for us to use them and I wasn’t able to push to the max. Not with these tyres. We have to understand because Alvaro used the SCX while we couldn’t do it. I weigh 17 chili more than him, but I don’t think that’s the only reason.
