The Spanish rider won in Mandalika with perfect race management

These are the words of Alvaro Bautista after the victory in Race 1 at Mandalika: “At the first corner I was lucky because Rinaldi made a mistake the detached and we went close to a contact. In practice we had some problems with the front, and we understood that in the first laps we had to be careful not to force too much on the front wheel so as not to compromise the race”.
“Also for this – he explained – I was for a few laps behind Toprak and I realized that he too was saving the tyres. Then I tried to increase my pace and took the lead. I increased my pace further and saw that the bike was fine and that I could push harder. The choice of the SCX was the right one for my bike, even if the track wasn’t perfectly rubberized yet”.
