RIYADH – Arab Saudi seeks to strengthen and develop relationships with Russia on all levels. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Thursday (9/3/2023).
During a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Prince Faisal also voiced hope that the discussions would contribute to unifying visions and advancing bilateral relations.
The two discussed international developments and the current challenges facing the world, according to Al Arabiya’s correspondent. Meanwhile, Lavrov highlighted the importance of relations with the Kingdom and said strengthening these ties was one of Russia’s priorities.
He added that continuous coordination with Saudi Arabia at all levels is important, noting that the Kingdom plays an important role in resolving international issues.
“We regard them (the relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia) as a priority and we have done our best to put into practice the top-level agreement reached between the President of Russia (Vladimir Putin) and His Majesty the King (Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud) of Saudi Arabia and His Son The crown (Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud),” Lavrov assured.
The top Russian diplomat also highlighted the importance of interdepartmental cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh, and said the ministries of the two countries maintain regular communication.
“We have worked closely with you on all these issues and I believe that today’s meeting will allow us to coordinate additional steps that will contribute to solving the relevant issues,” Lavrov concluded.
