He Tax Administration System (SAT) It is the governmental institution of Mexico that is in charge of monitoring the tax regulations of the country. Whether it is an individual or legal entity, it has a record of taxes, customs and fines.
What about deceased taxpayers?
There is a myth that when a taxpayer dies, his debts are resolved before the Treasury, however, this is not the case, since the SAT has the necessary mechanisms to carry out actions in order to make the payment.
As indicated by the SAT on its website, when a relative dies and had outstanding credits, the tax authority can take measures, such as the seizure and auction of assets. It is not true that upon death the fines are cancelled. In reality, the collection process continues in order to make it effective through your assets or bank accounts.
