The annual declaration is the official document in which natural and legal persons endorse the report of the operations carried out during the year before the Tax Administration Service. (SAT).
As every March or April, taxpayers must comply with the annual obligation to report the income obtained the previous year to the highest tax authority.
In case of not presenting it, omitting or performing it out of time, it is a reason for the imposition of economic fines and sanctions on taxpayers.
When do individuals file the annual declaration?
The obligation must be reported by both legal entities and individuals, with the difference that this year the former have until Monday, April 3 to present it, and the latter until next April 30.
If you have business or professional activities, surely you are one of the 31 million 673 thousand 29 natural persons registered in the taxpayer registrya figure reported by the SAT last January and that must comply with the obligation.
How to file the annual statement online?
Individuals have the option of submitting their declaration before the date by appointment or via the Internet.
You must enter the SAT portal, capture your Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC), your password and fill out forms. The Treasury collection arm offers two options to declare, with a proposed declaration and the manual one.
If you choose the first, the SAT gives you the registered information. Check your data before sending the statement and if you do not agree, reject the proposal.
In the case of the manual declaration, it includes the withholdings made by your employer and the electronic invoices to be deducted.
