Pitha Haningtyas Mentari’s tears broke after winning the first match at the Swiss Open 2023 because he remembered his late lover, Syabda Perkasa who died on Sunday (20/3/2023).
In that match, Pitha Haningtyas and Rinov Rivaldy competed against Indonesian mixed doubles Dejan-Gloria to advance to the round of 16.
The sudden death of Syabda Perkasa still seems to leave deep sorrow for Pitha Haningtyas. When getting a point after the return serve from Dejan, Pitha Haningtyas burst into tears.
In the video that has been widely circulated on social media, the badminton player who is familiarly called Tari is seen crying while crouching. As if she knew what Pitha Haningtyas was going through, Gloria immediately approached her and gave Pitha a hug and comforted her while stroking her back.

Syabda Perkasa himself died with his mother in an accident on the Pemalang Toll Road, Central Java. Both died while on their way to visit their grandmother’s grave.
