Players don’t have a problem with the clock indicating how many hours they’ve played, but they don’t like being told how much of a game they’ve completed. Many consider this to be some kind of spoiler, as it tells them how close they are to the end of their adventure.

Some PS5 users raised their voices on reddit (via Push Square) to criticize the news of the game centers, especially the percentage indicator. The community argues that knowing how close they are to finishing a title can ruin their experience.
One user stated that not knowing when a video game will end is one of the charms of this form of entertainment, so he believes that this feature should be able to be disabled. The vast majority think that it is not a spoiler as such, but that it can affect the game experience for some.
This opinion divided the opinion of the community, as several users believe that it really is not a problem. In fact, some appreciated an indicator that tells them how much of a game they’ve completed.
“I can understand why some people would like it, but for me it ruins something. The feeling of wonder, perhaps? It’s like looking at the time when you’re at the movies, suddenly you know how much time you have left of what you were enjoying. That’s especially important when it doesn’t feel like a story should be ending,” said one player.
“I heard someone say a while ago that the best thing about video games compared to books or movies is that you’re not always aware of exactly how long until the end. I hadn’t thought of that before, but it’s a good part of gaming. It is a pity that now it is inevitable”, pointed out another user.
