Suara.com – The candidate for Supreme Court judge for Special Tax, Triyono Martanto, is under scrutiny after a Twitter account disclosed his wealth. This wealth was considered odd because the amount was too large for the size of the judge. He himself will undergo a fit test for his new position on Tuesday (28/3/2023).
Apart from the question of his wealth which is considered unreasonable, another controversy from Triyono Martanto is also discussed. It is known that the candidate for Supreme Court justice had plagiarized papers until his candidacy in 2021 was rejected. The following is complete information that Suara.com summarizes.
Have Fantastic Wealth
A Twitter account named @PartaiSocmed suspects the irregularity of Triyuno Martanto’s fantastic treasure. According to the records of the State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN), his wealth reaches IDR 51 billion with the largest assets in the form of cash and cash equivalents worth IDR 31 billion.

“The candidate for Supreme Court Judge specifically for tax, Triyono Martanto, is very rich. His total wealth (reported to LHKPN) is 51 billion! Remarkably, most of his assets are in the form of cash or cash equivalents, aka fat accounts,” wrote the account, Friday (24/3/2023).
Then, the other largest asset is in the form of securities worth IDR 13 billion. Followed by land and buildings spread across South Jakarta, South Tangerang, to Karawang in the amount of IDR 4.8 billion. There are also cars totaling IDR 668 million and other movable assets IDR 506.8 million.
Paper Plagiarism
The meeting for the fit and proper test for the candidate for Supreme Court justices specifically for tax, Triyono Martanto, was stopped. Because, his paper is suspected of being the result of plagiarism. This suspicion was revealed by Member of Commission III of the PDIP faction of the DPR RI, Ichsan Soelistio.

Ichsan compared the paper submitted by Triyono with the journals owned by Rio Bravestha and Syofyan Hadi. The two articles both discuss the existence and independence of the tax court in the judicial system in Indonesia.
It is known that Rio and Syofyan’s journals were written in 2017, while Triyono’s paper was made in 2020. On the other hand, Ichsan also saw how Triyono’s paper was written which was similar to the journal. For this reason, he considered that there was plagiarism in his writing.
Triyono, who did not accept it, then gave a defense. He explained that the paper he wrote for the fit and proper test was the same as what he had presented at the Constitutional Court (MK). Then according to him, the theme like that is indeed a lot to discuss.
2021 Nomination Rejected
Commission III of the DPR RI had rejected Triyono Martanto who in 2021 would run for Supreme Court justice at the suggestion of the Judicial Commission (KY). They only agreed on the names of three ad hoc candidate judges at the Supreme Court. This is obtained after the feasibility test.
There were allegations that the paper was plagiarized, Triyono’s candidacy as a judge was rejected. While the names approved were Sinintha Yuliansih Sibarani (candidate ad hoc judge on Corruption Eradication), Andari Yuriko Sari (candidate ad hoc judge on Industrial Relations), and Achmad Jaka Mirdinata (candidate ad hoc judge on Industrial Relations).
Has Been a Tax Court Judge for a Long Time
Prior to being proposed as a candidate for Supreme Court justices, Triyono Martanto was entrusted with being a Tax Court Judge since March 20 2015. Then, based on President Joko Widodo’s Decree number 30/P of 2022, he was appointed Deputy Chair II of the Tax Court for Judicial Affairs.
The task of the tax court is to examine and decide on matters relating to tax disputes. Then, do the same thing on appeal decisions unless determined by other points in accordance with the law. On the other hand, the judges here are under the auspices of the Supreme Court.
