On Friday 24 February in Capena – Rome – a three-month-old girl died suddenly. From the first reconstructions it seems that the little one, since birth, was suffering from respiratory problems even if the type of pathology he suffered from has not yet been clarified. For the moment there is no hypothesis of a crime, but the Tivoli prosecutor’s office has requested an autopsy and the results of the coroner are awaited to clarify this sudden death. The Carabinieri of Capena and Monterotondo intervened on the spot, who managed the situation and offered assistance to the mother.
From what emerged, at the time of the tragedy, the newborn was with the woman – one thirty-year-old girl of Nigerian nationality – who lives in Viterbo with his partner. Shortly before the drama occurred, the mother of the little girl had left Viterbo to visit one of her friends. She had taken a bus and decided to bring along their two daughters: the three-month-old baby – wrapped in a band on her back – and the older sister, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl.

The hypothesis that at the moment appears more probable is that the girl has accused a sudden illness during the trip. Illness that proved fatal. It is not clear at the moment if when the little girl was removed from the swaddling she had already stopped breathing, or if she felt sick immediately afterwards. One month after birth she had already been in the hospital, intubated and then resigned. On a report from 118, the soldiers of the Arma arrived. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to save her life.
In the meantime, the father of the little girl has also arrived in Capena. Arrived there Mortuary police, the little girl’s body was transferred to the morgue at the Tor Vergata Institute of Legal Medicine, where it will be subjected to an autopsy. The soldiers of the Arma have sent a report to the Judicial Authority of Tivoli to make the incident known and has ordered the autopsy examinations. The results are now awaited. Just a few weeks ago a 4 day old newborn is died suffocated at the Pertini in Rome.
