The Slovenian Primoz Roglic has won the fourth stage of the Italian stage race Tirreno-Adriatico. It was a ride with arrival in Tortoreto after a climb of more than 3 kilometers. The Jumbo-Visma rider, working on his first race of the year, defeated the Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe and the Briton Adam Yates in the sprint of a thinned group. Wilco Kelderman finished fourth.
In the general classification, the German Lennard Kämna took over the leader’s jersey from the Italian Filippo Ganna.
Two contenders for the stage victory, the Belgian Wout van Aert and the Briton Tom Pidcock, crashed 2 kilometers before the finish. Both got back on their bikes. A tough mountain stage follows on Friday. The Tirreno ends on Sunday.
