Cyclist Primoz Roglic has won a stage in the Tirreno-Adriatico for the second time in a row. The Slovenian leader of Jumbo-Visma was also the strongest in the fifth after his victory in the fourth stage. It was the queen stage with an uphill finish in Sassotetto.
After a climb of more than 10 kilometers, Roglic was the best in the final sprint of a large leading group, in which the most important classification riders were still seated. Thanks to bonus seconds, he took over the leader’s jersey from the German Lennard Kämna.
The Italian Giulio Ciccone finished second in the stage, the Briton Tao Geoghegan Hart was third. Kämna crossed the finish line in fifth place. Roglic is 4 seconds ahead of the German from the Bora-hansgrohe team in the general classification.
Wilco Kelderman of Jumbo-Visma, who was also in the leading group, is the best Dutchman in fifth place.
