With the purpose of the upcoming release of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the Japanese magazine Famitsu launched a survey to its readers asking which was the first title of the franchise they played, which is the scariest and, of course, which are their favorite characters. The results of this vote are very interesting and worth analyzing.

What are the most popular Resident Evil characters?
To no one’s surprise, the original 1996 installment was the first title in the series that readers of the Japanese magazine played. Right away, Resident Evil 7 of 2017 is the scariest video game. Now, who are the most popular characters?
Certainly, the survey results are far from surprising or unexpected. We say this because Leon S. Kennedy is the most popular character in the Capcom franchise, while Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield are in second and third place, respectively.
However, there is a very interesting surprise that perhaps few fans saw coming. Specifically, Piers Nivans, one of the secondary characters in the controversial Resident Evil 6, managed to enter the top 10 and was placed at number 9, above Hunk and behind Rebecca Chamberlain.
