How to avoid the fatal bug in Resident Evil 4 Remake
This bug occurs at the beginning of Chapter 12. As soon as you see the opening cinematic of the Chapter, players will receive a key item.
What you have to do (oddly enough) is DO NOT attack the knife until the notification of receiving a key item has appearedat the top right of the screen.
If you use the knife before the notification pops up (or if you miss the button, for example), you won’t receive that item.
If you want to check if you received the key item, you can look at it in the Key Items and Treasures menu of your briefcase. If you don’t see it, reload a save file from before Chapter 12 (which is why it’s also important to save often!).
Resident Evil 4 has received criticism for its performance on consoles, although this is one of the few fatal bugs found. Other more harmless bugs were left (or recreated, rather), as a tribute to the original game.
If you’re playing Resident Evil 4 Remake Don’t miss this great trick that allows you to skip the start part of the game by giving “the bell”, and other tricks to skip closed doors.
