“It was a terrible period,” says Tino in conversation with Privé . The fact that their relationship almost came to an end feels like a failure to him. He says he was unable to function during that period. “I slept badly, thinking was difficult and even working was almost impossible.”
The folk singer seriously took into account that things would not work out between him and Kimberley. “But I knew that we like each other so much. I held on to that. And maybe it had to be, because we match much better now.” The two have now been together for seven years.
Kimberley is also happy that the two have continued to fight for love. “We went to live separately and sat around the table. In the end it turned out that there were still enough feelings,” she says. What made the togetherness between the two difficult was the amount of work. Both Tino and Kimberley work an awful lot. “We were just working, we lived past each other,” said Kimberley.
When the couple is in the Netherlands, they say they work ‘nearly ninety percent of the time’. We try to eat them together as often as possible. “Those moments are extra important,” said Kimberley.
Tino calls his and Kimberley’s life “quite boring” because of all the work. Due to his work rhythm, he always sleeps in until about eleven o’clock. And that while Kimberley is a morning person. She sometimes finds it uncomfortable to sit downstairs alone. But by making more time for each other when possible, things go much better between the couple.
