The E3 has always been with us, or at least if we talk about the modern times of the industry, and it is that it has accompanied us in iconic moments of the industry, and has managed to bring joy to people thousands of kilometers away. For this reason, a large part of the gamers are quite discouraged, and it seems that this event is numbered for years. Yes, in principle the event will continue, but given that we no longer have PlayStation, Nintendo or Xbox, and the problems that occurred in past years (such as the cancellation in 2022), it is normal that many users have enough doubts about its continuity.
Curiously, it seems that, among these pessimistic users, we have a great figure from the video game industry, and from E3 in particular: Former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aiméwhich has launched a veiled, but quite harsh, criticism of E3 in general, although particularly of the closest version, that is, that of this 2023.
A rather hurtful criticism
Before I show you his criticism, you will wonder why it is so hurtful, or so harsh, and the answer is quite simple. It is not only because of the comment, which you will see below, but because we are also talking about a figure who was key in many E3 events. Let’s remember that the phrase for which Reggie is most remembered, the classic “My body is ready”, was pronounced during the E3 of 2007.
Now yes, getting into the matter, just below you can find the tweet in which he made this comment, in which he compares the void that exists in the Wii U community, with the one that exists at E3 today. This is done as a result of several users sharing how Reggie’s own Mii announced as “The E3 community is alive”, this being a comment that the own direct would leave years ago, but that his Mii repeats non-stop.

Of course, we cannot say that E3 is what it was at the timebut it is an event where some of the best games in history have been announced, so despite its current state, we believe that it is necessary to respect it for where it came from.
