Observer of children and education Retno Listyarti gave a response regarding AG’s detention at the Social Welfare Administration Institution (LPKS).
For your information, AG was detained because he was dragged into the case of the alleged abuse of Mario Dandy Satriyo against D (17) which is correct.
“According to the police statement, he was placed at the LPKS and that is correct,” said a child education observer and Retno Listyarti when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday.
Because, said Retno, children who are facing the law of detention cannot be mixed with adults. Therefore, the police measure is considered appropriate.

“The detention of the child must be humane. One, it must not be mixed with adults,” he said.
At LPKS AG, they will receive psychological assistance including obtaining other rights such as family visits, education rights and so on, said the former Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).
He said that if AG participates in a home schooling program, then the police may not carry out an inspection until the learning activities are completed or fulfilled.
“So, their rights must be fulfilled. This is stated in the Law on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System,” he said.
According to him, the police do not have to examine AG at the police station because it can be done at the LPKS. The goal is that children who are dealing with the law are not pressured.
As is known, the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) detained AG in the special room for children of the LPKS.
“In terms of detention, there is something called objective and subjective. If that is objective, the threat of a sentence of more than five years,” said Director of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi.
Then the investigator’s subjective reason for detaining is to prevent the perpetrator from escaping, eliminating evidence and repeating his actions.
