WASHINGTON – The battle of a woman from the United States (US) against the threat of expulsion ended tragically after she blew herself up and her house with dozens of her cats.
Authorities in Roosevelt, New Jersey, said the arson fire started at 11 a.m. last Wednesday (1/3/2023) and quickly devoured the entire home.
Police recently served the woman, who has not been named, with an eviction notice. That caused him to issue a threat to commit a horrific act which finally came to light last Wednesday.
“We have reports that residents gassed the residence prior to starting the fire,” Lt. Lawrence Peele of the New Jersey State Police told CBS News’ Daily Star, Sunday (5/3/2023).
Police said neighbors were evacuated during their standoff with the woman before the drama unfolded.
One of the neighbors, Erin Luca, told CBS News: “They knocked on our door this morning. Thank goodness it was a pretty hard knock. I grabbed (my son). They told us to leave. He threatened with bombs or bombed the house and ended up with fire.”
Another resident, Emma Quackenbush, who lived for more than two decades told local radio she had lost everything in the fire.
“It seems my house is gone. It’s still standing but not fit for habitation,” he said.
