Sony has accustomed us to a pace of relaunching of games of PlayStation on PC: Approximately two years after the original release on PS5, they arrive on PC (and Steam Deck) with technical improvements and adapted to PC.
The latest release has been Returnal, which came out on PC in February 2023, just over two years after it launched on PS5. The previous one was Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, which also came out just two years later.
Which one is next? Following this logic, the next PS5 exclusive to come out on PC would be Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart, the acclaimed 3D platformer from Insomniac Games which came out in June 2022.
But we do not only have this theory: there is another reason to believe that the last Ratchet and Clank It’s going to come out sooner or later on PC: a job offer from Nixxes.
Evidence to believe that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is coming soon to PC
As they have discovered on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, the Nixxes studio has published a job offer looking for a programmer for whom experience in the use of Coherent middleware is valued.
This software system has been created by Coherent Labs, and has been used, among other AAA games, in Racthet & Clank: A Dimension Apart.
So it would make sense that Nixxes (a studio that was bought by PlayStation in 2021 to port their games to PC) is working on a port of Ratchet. Precisely, they previously worked on the PC ports of the Spider-Man games, which are also from Insomniac Games.
On the other hand, this doesn’t have to mean anything, but it certainly wouldn’t be far-fetched.
The Ratchet & Clank saga has never been released on PC, and while it would make more sense to start with the 2016 remake/reboot, the 2021 installment was more appreciated, particularly for its use of SSD technology to generate those “portals” to others. worlds instantly.
