An excited and involved Ranieri who made a journey in his career, from the very early days in the amateurs without athletic trainers passing through the years in the various foreign championships, up to the current football which has made specialization and attention to detail with various figures its bread and butter daily. With the Roman coach who confessed to having used the athletic trainer for the first time only at the time of Fiorentina. “I’ve always thought that to command a staff member, you first have to study his subject matter and get in tune with the man and the professional. I do the same with my players, first of all, even before the technique and the ideas of the game, I try to enter into his “I”. This is Ranieri’s warning to young students. With Ranieri who declared that he has always used curiosity to grow in his career: “When I was sacked over the years, I went around to my colleagues, to Klopp or Guardiola. Because I wanted to understand how they coached. I don’t think there are any secrets in this sport, just knowledge, this is one of the reasons why when I arrived at Leicester I looked at the athletic data of the team that had survived and I didn’t change anything, we restarted from their habits. To the guys who want to do this job, I only say one thing: be yourself, don’t compromise and believe in your ideas”.
The new changing rooms

Ranieri who also intervened on the various changes in the management of the locker room over the years: “The important thing is to give yourself rules and respect the freedom of others. I only ask not to use the telephone at the table or in the locker room, but young people must use the new means of communication, they are part of their reality. I don’t have social media, but I don’t expect this habit of mine to be valid for other generations. What do I ask a young man? Just motivation. Those who arrive in life are only those who are tenacious, those who know how to fall and then get back up. As a player, they took me to Roma only after being rejected after two tryouts.” Ranieri who in closing also spoke about the moment of Italian football: “It’s true that there are no centre-forwards, we are waiting for another Gigi Riva to be born, but every nation has its cycles. Before Italy it has already happened to Holland and France”.
