The actor Rainn Wilson, known for his role as Dwight in The Office, has been the protagonist of a new controversy on Twitter, a platform where he denounced the supposed anti-Christian trend that prevails in Hollywood, which supposedly is reflected in the adaptation of the video game The Last of Us on HBO.
According to Indian in his social network account, “I think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the character of David in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading the bible I knew he was going to be a creepy villain. Could there be in a series, some bible-reading pastor who is kind and a good person?
Accusation that despite being somewhat right, is not completely correct since as many gamers will know, David’s story is taken directly from the video game on which the series is based, so perhaps he would be accusing the wrong industry of having ” an anti-Christian bias”.

But that’s not all, since Fox News, an American channel that is classified as conservative and in favor of the Republican Party, did not hesitate to echo his words and put them on the front page, apparently trying to continue his propaganda agenda. Something that the actor himself also noted on Twitter, saying: “a couple of funny things about the anti-Christian trend in Hollywood. My opinion tweet was used as a front page on Fox News. Talk about bias.”
“An organization created as a corporate shill to create division solely for profit based on anger generated by the culture war. Print that!”
And the most curious of all is that Wilson is not even a Christian, as he himself made it clear by publishing another tweet, where he also continues his protest against the industry, saying that “of course it is true that the evangelical-political coalition is doing great damage to our country. Banning books -prohibiting liberties-, denying inconvenient scientific evidence, creating a grotesque anti-LGBTQ+ platform… But the majority of Christians I know are kind, tolerant and seek to make the world a better place. They should also be honored in the media.”
