Until April 1, almost 2,000 young athletes aged between 8 and 15 will try to stand out
From 26 March to 1 April, almost two thousand very young athletes will compete on the snow of Abetone (Pistoia) in the 41st edition of Pinocchio on skis, one of the five most important ski races in the world reserved for children aged eight to fifteen years. There are over 1600 Italian athletes, representing 17 regional committees, who will compete in the national final and around 300 in the international one.

Nations from all over the world took part in the event, including Chile, New Zealand, Australia, Algeria and Ukraine, the latter with two teams. The organizers are also working to set up the “Village of Pinocchio”, a popular meeting place for athletes, their parents and insiders. A series of events will commemorate Celina Seghi, the great champion (she was nicknamed the “snow mouse”), born and raised as an athlete in Abetone and passed away last year at the age of 102.
